WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
The Derry Township Municipal Authority is seeking applicants for a full-time Maintenance Mechanic. The Authority provides wastewater collection and treatment, stormwater management and other related services to the greater Hershey area. Facilities include multiple complex wastewater treatment facilities and numerous pumping stations. Typical duties include regularly-scheduled preventive maintenance and required corrective mechanical maintenance and repair on various sizes and types of wastewater treatment process equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, compressors, blowers, valves, conveyors and piping. Other duties include the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems found in the facility buildings. Metal fabrication and welding experience is a plus.
We seek an employee with a professional manner that has good verbal and written communication skills, who is detail oriented, personable, and who can function successfully as part of a team. Minimum qualifications include graduation from high school with three to four years of work experience and good mathematical and mechanical aptitude. Prior related maintenance work experience in the wastewater field is preferred. Applicants are subject to background checks, pre-employment physical, and drug testing.
